GAIT ANALYSIS

Did you know that all the joints and muscles in your body are influenced by the way you walk?

Even the corns and hard skin you find on your feet can be caused by poor foot mechanics?

Gait analysis plays a key role in podiatry – this is how we find the CAUSE of your problem so that we are not just treating the symptoms.

Here is an example:

Plantar Fasciitis is an inflammation of the heel caused by a stretch on the plantar fascial ligament, causing small tears where it attaches to the heel bone.

By analysing your gait, we can find out what is causing this pull. In some cases, a longer leg could be the reason, and this is corrected by the prescription of a functional foot orthosis.

Our advanced computerised gait analysis system can assist in the diagnosis and can show you an image of what is occurring.
